This is something that Sky wants to warn you about before direct debit arrives at the beginning of the month.
This bill increase is ofcom intended to exclude customers by forcing suppliers to disclose that a contract is about to expire.
Sky, now owned by US giant Comcast, is adamant it has done nothing wrong. Satellite TV Company says it does not consider their stand-alone pay-TV services to be included in the definition of an electronic communication service and does not need to comply with the new rules.
However, OfCom responded that Sky, as a provider of pay-TV services transmitted through satellite distribution networks, provides an electronic communication service as well as a regulated provider and must comply with this.
