The newspaper reported that high-ranking members of the British royal family had revealed that they had been vaccinated, “in order to encourage more people to get important shots”, for fear that the so-called Waxexers would suppress the excitement.
The UK on Wednesday gave its immediate approval to the Fischer-Bio-Entech Corona virus vaccine. Residents of retirement homes and their caregivers are first vaccinated, followed by people over the age of 80 and primary health care workers. Other people who are older and weaker will be next, giving priority to the rest of the population based on age.
Buckingham Palace did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
A total of 40 million doses of the vaccine have been ordered in the UK, with an initial batch of 800,000 doses expected next week.
